Fresno Hospital fined 175K for having a leaving a Physician Assistant in charge of an open heart operation

Actually, if you read it the PA was not at fault.  The cardiovascular surgeon left the OR, and the PA was forced to close and finish the operation.  Only the patient never stopped bleeding (that's bad).  The surgeon had to be called back.  The Physician Assistant was fired, while the surgeon was suspended a whole seven days (what a joke).
